Anxiety & Depression
Understanding Some Mental Health Issues
Overview
Being stuck in a cycle of anxiety or depression can feel debilitating. You feel trapped, hopeless, and begin to feel like you will always be this way. Through my experience in providing therapy, I have come to discover a very common theme with anxiety and depression is the core beliefs you have about yourself and the world around you. I have seen that molding or changing these beliefs can reduce the hold anxiety or depression may have on you. But often times it is more complex than that, trauma or grief can also be the cause of this vicious cycle. Together, we will explore the root cause of the cycle and find a solution that works for you. We will also work through different techniques to help deal with a bout of anxiety or depression in our first session. I want you to leave every session feeling more prepared to handle your anxiety or depression.
Practice Relaxation Techniques
So much of handling anxiety and depression is helping you feel calm and in control. A great way to do this is through relaxation techniques like breathing exercises, meditation or progressive muscle relaxation. Practicing these can reduce the intensity of physical symptoms.
